Neelam Singh is the CEO and Co-Founder of The Burger Company. She has to her credit a master’s degree in marketing. She has also worked in Business Management and consulting.

Why into hospitality?

Being a foodie comes naturally to Neelam. She loved experimenting with Indian spices & flavours by giving a modern twist to them and serving it to her loved ones. She always had a vision and clarity to build a career or business out of something that she loved; and food was at the top of the list. Her zeal to create unique yet nostalgic taste has played a vital role in creating the company’s out-of-the-box value proposition in the food and hospitality sector.

Back in 2015, during one of her corporate work assignments with one of the India’s biggest food company with multiple brands, she learnt the nitty-gritties of running the whole show in a food outlet/company. The operational challenges, innovative marketing solutions, access to first hand customer feedbacks & data, strategy formulation, ability to generate employment for the skilled & semi-skilled young people and enormous opportunities were really fascinating to the entrepreneurial bug in her.

How the idea clicked?

During an international trip, she visited a Burger restaurant which had multiple burger options that had bold flavours like PB&J burger, classic cheese burger which were native to the country.

That’s when the idea clicked – why can’t India has its own burger chain which sells varieties of burgers with unique and varied flavours that every Indian can relate to. That’s when The Burger Company was born!

The items in the menu speak for themselves, our best-sellers like PUNJABI GABRU is made from 7 Punjabi spices, MURG MAKHANI will remind you of your favourite Indian dish -Butter Chicken, MANGO BANTA is inspired by the colourful banta bottles we used to drink from the street carts when we were young and PARLE-G CHEESECAKE MILKSHAKE which will take every Indian on a trip down the memory lane of our childhood. It is nostalgia packed in a bottle.

Vision?

Hailing from a small city herself, her vision is to open TBC outlets in more and more tier 2 & tier 3 cities along with metro cities so that these towns and it’s young crowd can have access to a cozy, fun, premium and yet a pocket-friendly place where good quality, trendy & flavourful dishes are served.

She intends to take TBC beyond serving cliché burgers to building a food company that goes beyond all levels of taste and never stops experimenting because there’s a lot more to food than people know.

Neelam singh has expertise in brand creation, developing innovative flavours that suit the Indian taste buds because she believes in staying connected to the roots, launching and managing operations to the last mile. After opening 45 outlets, she is all set to aim for the century by the end of 2022.
